Buying or Bribing: Trump’s Transactions

President Donald Trump is downplaying making hush payments to individuals, though it might constitute a campaign finance violation.

Democrats are looking into statements made by Trump’s former lawyer about six-figure sums being paid to two individual women to buy their silence regarding Trump.

While the president has tweeted that the incidents are “a simple private transaction,” if they are declared finance violations it could spell very bad news fro Trump.

U.S. Rep Jerrold Nadler commented the if found to be in violations, it would be the closet Trump has been to real impeachment.

Where as Rep Adam Schiff stated that if indicted Trump could “face the real prospect of jail time.”

In response to the allegations Trump denied any fault while placing any potential blame on his former lawyer Michael Cohen.

“There was NO COLLUSION. So now the Dems go to a simple private transaction, wrongly call it a campaign contribution, which it was not,” Trump tweeted. “But even if it was, it is only a CIVIL CASE, like Obama’s – but it was done correctly by a lawyer and there would not even be a fine. Lawyer’s liability if he made a mistake, not me.”
